Getting Past Our “Can’t Dos”

19 Sep

Here’s an idea to shift mindset, be creative, and add some cool stuff to your life.

I’m on Day 42 of this herniated disc nonsense that is severely limiting my mobility and my life. Yes, I’m frustrated. And I don’t know when it’s going to end.

The other morning, when I was thinking about all the things I wish I could do again, how much I was looking forward to being able to do them again, though having no idea when that would be, I decided I need to move into better acceptance and find a way to live in the now.

So I listed each of the things I can’t do anymore but wish I could. Then for each thing, I came up with an alternative idea. Now, I’m going to do all the things I can do!

Check out my list and make one of your own!

  1. We must have been on the same wave length this week! LOL I was just having the conversation with myself that now that I’ve made a list of all the ways my life has changed (i.e. the can’t do anymore) since my fibro diagnosis, that I need to list my “can do’s” and the ways my life has improved. Since I work through the week and I’m tee-totally out of spoons when I get home every day, it is a task I will work on this weekend.

    Gentle hugs!
