Speaker Bio
Christina Irene has a degree in Creative Writing from the University of Tennessee where she also studied theatre and was awarded by the university for “Most Extraordinary Professional Promise.” Her writing has led her through several interesting careers, from creative carnival barker to nationally-touring comedian to advertisement copywriter. Acting experience includes both scripted and improvised plays, and she’s written and directed two adaptations of Shakespeare (Portia’s Contest and Et Two Be.) She’s taught creative writing, theatre, and journalism in North Carolina and Virginia and she’s published in popular joke books, She’s So Funny: 1768 of the Best Jokes From Women Comedians and Love’s Funny That Way: 800 Terrific Jokes About Romance and Relationships.
