I have a joyful building toy hobby, which has now inspired a new YouTube channel @ConstruxtiveChris featuring a favorite toy from my childhood, Fisher-Price Construx.
This channel has nothing to do with my speaking business or my Splat books. It’s purely for fun. However, I just couldn’t resist a chance to incorporate messaging about disability, so my latest video compares and contrasts building LEGO and Construx with the multiple issues I have with my hands, including arthritis, fibromyalgia, and (surprise!) my mild limb difference. I also bring up disability representation in toys, cognitive impairments, and just the idea that play is for everyone. With all that, it’s a silly, fun little movie.
