Holiday Inn, Craig, Colorado, September 15, 2004
Heading from Rocky Mountain National Park to Craig, the Colorado landscape shifts. There's always a change when you get to the west side of the Rockies. I stop for this photo as I'm heading out of a Colorado River canyon. It's a narrow trail through the mountains with the river at the bottom, the highway on the south side, and a train track on the north side. The lay of the tracks give me the feeling of going back in time.
The western Colorado view from outside the hotel. Craig is a tiny little town where the Ford dealership is barely bigger than a Burger King, where there is no Wal-Mart, and where all the men in the grocery store have their camouflage coats on, even though it's 70 degrees outside.
Here I am with the headliner, Chris Curtis.
This is me with Mike, the general manager of the hotel. Very genuine, and very hospitable guy.
