Stand-Up Comedy Bio
Christina Irene started in comedy because of a very bad decision. At the age of 18, she ran away from home for an attempted romance with a variety entertainer. Surrounded by magicians, jugglers, ventriloquists, impersonators, dog acts, balloon sculptors and the like, she understandably became convinced that getting on stage and acting ridiculous was a normal thing. Being a lifelong writer, she chose words as her prop, and though things didn’t pan out for the guy, Christina found love after all – a love for the stage.
Fifteen years, hundreds of shows, and thousands of miles later, Christina is a polished professional with an uproarious show. Her roots as a writer are evident – her show is always fresh, and she does magical things with words that will constantly surprise you and have you howling with laughter.
“I had been helping a local nonprofit with the kick-off to their Capital Campaign by organizing ‘A Night to Howl’ comedy event. I wanted to make sure that I had top comedians that people would love for this important effort. When I asked one of the comedians who was going to be performing if he recommended anyone, he suggested Christina Irene without any hesitation. He said he had worked with her before and we would love her. He was so right! She not only put on an incredible comedy act at the event, which people raved about afterwards, she also became incredibly dedicated to the cause. She helped to promote the event and even appeared on a local television show to promote it and to promote dog adoption. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for an outstanding comedian or to assist with an organization or a business.” – Sherrie Davis, Non-Profit Event Coordinator
