In Hokitika, I must go to this tourist trap to view a live kiwi bird.



A closer look at the tuatara and the kiwi bird.  I can't get any decent photos of the kiwi bird inside because they are nocturnal and kept in a dark room, flashes not allowed.



My favorite part is the giant tank with the giant eels, which are 5 to 6 feet long.


Tuatara ... an animal unchanged since the age of the dinosaurs.
