Now we're in Queenstown, the south island's biggest tourist at the only hotel reserved ahead of time, which I did over the internet not knowing what I was doing. I got something cheap ... turns out to be about $50 US per night, and turns out to be a beautiful hotel. Pictured is this hotel's in-room coffee setup. Hot cocoa, too, of course. We're at the Queenstown Lodge, by the way.
The view from the Queenstown Lodge's restaurant/bar deck.
Another view from the deck, looking back towards the restaurant/bar. You can see the whole outside wall is windows to overlook the lake.
More from the deck, looking at the hotel.
More from the deck.
Back home everyone's wearing their sweaters and winter coats. Tee hee.
Oscar, the hotel's cat.
More views from the deck. In the left photo, to the left, you can see downtown Queenstown.
James. Ready to take advantage of the hotel's free shuttle service to and from town.
