I try my best to take in the sites during the moments when the rain eased up. Below are pictures from my trip to Roanoke island, known as the birthplace of the first American-born English child and where the original British settlement mysteriously disappeared. I remember this stuff from history class! The first four pictures are from a little private marina with lots of pretty boats. The rest are from the town of Manteo.
