Currituck Light

Another day outing I take is my trip to the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, which is just about the northernmost one can drive on the Outer Banks.  The Currituck Light was completed in 1875 and is 162 feet high.  There are three pages of photos in this section, so you must click "NEXT" at the bottom to avoid missing anything.

I quickly make some new friends.  This is Maggie and Lola.

The light.

Inside, I begin my climb to the top.  214 steps!

My feet, fifteen stories up, and the view straight down.

Views from the top: to the Currituck Sound and the Atlantic Ocean.  I thought perhaps I might see some wild horses, since this is a protected habitat for them, but those sure look like houses ....
