BONUS TRACK: "Love Song"
THE STORY: In Fall, 2004, while driving across the Midwest with my brain on cruise control, I spontancidently wrote a little chunk of a song. It made it onstage a few times, for fun, or for filler when I had to do hour-long shows, and all the while, it remained a little chunk ... until February 11, 2006, when once again, I had reached that strange state a marathon driver's brain gets into. Suddenly the dust burst off my song chunk, and the rest of the song oozed out. I arrived at the Woodbridge, Virginia home of Mark Matusof, with whom I was to perform at a Mexican restaurant in Leesburg that night. I shared the song with Mark, urged him to get his mandolin out to play with me, and barely managed to talk him into performing the song with me onstage that night. My plans were foiled by six inches of snow and a show cancellation. So, I talked Mark into taking me to Target (a rare treat for me these days), and then we settled back in at his house and around midnight recorded my song.
